Privacy Policy

Last updated: [DATE OF PUBLICATION]

Movie Realm is operated by TS Realms Interactive LLC ("we", "us"), a limited liability company organized in [STATE OF INCORPORATION], United States, with a registered address at [REGISTERED ADDRESS].

This policy explains what the app collects, why, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past. If something here is unclear, write to us at tsrealms.interactive@gmail.com and we will answer in plain language.

1. Where Movie Realm is available

Movie Realm is offered in the United States and in other countries we select in the app stores. It is not offered in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, and it is not directed to residents of those regions. If that changes, we will update this policy before opening the app there.

2. You must be 18 or older

Movie Realm includes group chat and direct messaging between users. We are a small team without a dedicated moderation staff, so you must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, write to tsrealms.interactive@gmail.com and we will delete it.

3. What we collect

Your account. Your email address, and — if you sign in with Google or Apple — the basic identity those services return to us. Your username, profile picture, bio, and whether your account is public or private.

What you create. Reviews, ratings, posts, comments, polls, group messages, images you attach, lists, watchlists, and drafts you have not published yet.

Who you connect with. Accounts you follow, follow requests, group memberships, likes, votes, reposts, and accounts you block or mute.

How you use the app. Your search history — both the words you search for and the accounts you open from search — is saved to your account so it can appear the next time you search. Your experience points and level activity. Reports you file about content or bugs.

Activity status. While you are using the app, we record that you are online and when you were last active. Registered users can see whether you are online — the status light on your avatar. Your exact last-active time is not shown to anyone; we keep it to operate activity features and to understand which accounts are active.

Push notifications. If you enable them, we store a notification token for each device you sign in on, together with whether that device is Android or iOS. This is what lets a notification reach the right phone.

Photos. If you set a profile picture or attach an image, we store that image. The app asks for camera or photo library access only at the moment you use one of those features.

Translations. If you translate someone's review, post, or comment, we store the translated text so that the same translation does not have to be requested twice.

4. What we do not collect

We do not collect your location. We do not use an advertising identifier. We do not run ads. We do not embed third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Who else sees your information

We use a small number of outside companies to run the service. They are not allowed to use your information for their own purposes.

Supabase hosts our database, authentication, file storage, and server functions. Everything described in section 3 is stored there.

Google delivers push notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging. Google receives the notification token for your device and the contents of each notification we send you. If you sign in with Google, Google also handles that sign-in.

Apple handles Sign in with Apple, if you use it.

Microsoft provides the translation service. When you tap to translate something, the text being translated is sent to Microsoft's Translator API from our servers. Your device's network address is not sent — the request comes from us, not from your phone.

Giphy provides the GIF library. When you search for a GIF, the search term is sent to Giphy from our servers. When a GIF is displayed, your device loads the image directly from Giphy, so Giphy receives your device's network address at that moment.

The Movie Database (TMDB) hosts some of the artwork the app displays. When one of those images loads, your device requests it directly from TMDB's image servers, so TMDB receives your device's network address at that moment. TMDB does not receive your account information, and the app does not send TMDB anything about who you are or what you have saved.

Section 6 explains where the movie and TV information itself comes from — those companies receive nothing about you.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the service. If we are ever acquired or merged, information may transfer as part of that transaction; we will say so here before it takes effect.

6. Where the movie and TV information comes from

The catalog — titles, artwork, cast, scores, and streaming availability — is collected by our own systems from The Movie Database (TMDB), OMDb, and Trakt, and stored in our database before you ever open the app. These services receive no information about you. They answer questions about films and shows, not about users.

Streaming availability is provided by JustWatch through TMDB.

Some streaming availability information now in our database was originally obtained from WatchMode, a provider we no longer use.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

7. How long we keep it, and how to delete it

You can delete your account from inside the app, under Settings → Account → Delete Account. If for any reason you cannot complete it there, email tsrealms.interactive@gmail.com from the address on your account and we will delete it for you.

When you delete your account:

Apart from that quoted copy, nothing survives the deletion — no moderation records, no reports, no other exception.

While your account is open, we keep your information for as long as you keep the account. You can delete individual items — posts, reviews, comments, search history entries — at any time from within the app.

8. Your choices

9. California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, gives you specific rights. This section explains them.

Categories of personal information we collect: identifiers (email address, account ID, username, push notification token, network address); internet or other electronic network activity (your use of the app, search history); visual information (profile picture and images you post); and the contents of messages you send within the app. We collect these for the purposes described in section 3.

We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold it in the preceding twelve months. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

We do not use your information to infer characteristics about you, and we do not process sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics.

Your rights. You may request to know what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, to correct it, or to delete it. You may exercise these rights by deleting your account in the app, or by writing to tsrealms.interactive@gmail.com. We will verify your request using the email address associated with your account. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we will ask for proof of that authorization.

10. Security

Your session credentials are stored in your device's encrypted storage. Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Our database uses row-level access rules to restrict what each account can read and write, and we review those rules on an ongoing basis.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects what we collect or who we share it with, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell you inside the app before it takes effect.
